ISLAMABAD: The Senate standing committee on Cabinet Secretariat showed displeasure over CDA`s inability to properly follow its transfer and posting policy.
The committee, which met at Parliament House with Senator Talha Mehmood in the chair, took up the posting of over 300 employees at Parliament Lodges.
The committee members, par-ticularly Senators Yousuf Badini and Kalsoom Perveen, were of the view that over 385 influential staff of the CDA had been working in Parliament Lodges for years.
They alleged that these staff, who remained useless most of the time, created problems for the families of lawmakers.
`Some of the officials have been working at Parliament Lodges forover 30 years,` Additional Secretary CADD Qaisar Majid Malik told the meeting.
CDA member engineering Shahid Sohail said that in the past the CDA tried to rotate the staff but due to pressure from the employees union, it could not transfer the staff.
He, however, assured the committee that necessary transfers would be made shortly.Due to his differences with the chairman of the committee, Senator Badini boycotted the meeting.
However, other members managed to bring him back to the meeting. Senator Badini was complaining of not getting enough time to ask questions.
Earlier, the committee discussed Sector D-12 on which development work was started in 2005 with an 18 months deadline. A Reporter
