BAHAWALNAGAR: A woman has turned out to be a mastermind behind the murder of her husband, about which she claimed robbers had shot him dead over resistance during a robbery attempt.

The FIR registered with Bakhshan Khan police on Nov 18 stated that Sajid, an army official, deputed in Karachi, was home for a monthlong leave. On the night of Nov 17, he was shot dead by two armed robbers for resisting robbery. It said that the shooters fled with jewel1ery and cash.

A case was registered against two unidentified men under sections 302 and3920fthePPC.

A police official said at the time of the incident,Sajid`s wife, Naila, was sleeping with him.

However, during the investigation, police got suspicious when she kept changing her statements.

When police investigated Naila further, she confessed that she was the mastermind behind the murder.

The officials said that the woman planned to kill her husband with her brother-in-law named Kashif, with whom she had an affair.

During the investigation, Kashif confessed to killing Sajid along with his friend Usman at the behest of Naila, making the incident look like a robbery.

Kashif said that before the murder, Naila had administered drug pills to Sajid, adding that he planned to divorce his wife and marry Naila.
