THIS is apropos the letter `KE clarincation`(Jan29)aboutsurcharge on late payment of bills.
The K-Electric spokesperson has claimed that all billing is done as per regulatory processes and guidelines, and proudly claimed of national and international recognition of following best practices of disclosure and transparency.
I would like the KE to clarify its position on the following two issues: Why has KE not provided Karachi residents the time of use (ToU) tariff as per SRO 571(I)/2016 dated June 24, 2016, while the ToU tariff is available in the rest of the country? Why does KE not hold its annual general meeting and publish its annual audited accounts within the mandatory period of four months of the closure of accounts on June 30 as per Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan rules.
KE has not yet published its annual audited accounts for the period ended June 30, 2017; so much so for disclosure and transparency.
I would like the KE spokesperson to clarify KE`s position on the above two issues.
