LARKANA: An inquiry into the death of an 18-year-old youth, Abdul Jabbar, was initiated after his father, Roshan Ali Abro, changed his statement before police to claim that his son was hit by a bullet when his (Roshan Abro`s) gun went off accidentally.

Jabbar had received fatal gunshot wound during jubilation for some happy occasion in Tharo Tharischo village near Gairilo town on Wednesday night.

His death during treatment was declared by doctors after he was rushed to the Chandka Medical College Hospital in a critical condition.

Roshan Abro told the media at the hospital that a bullet was stuck in his pistol`s chamber and accidentally went off hitting his son.

However, Larkana SSP Masood Ahmed Bangash ordered an inquiry when SHO Rasheed Wagan pointed out that initial statements of Roshan Abro and residents of the village appeared `quite different` from the one he had given now.
