Boundary dispute

KARACHI: The decisions of the IndiaPakistan boundary disputes tribunal set up to adjudicate the four disputes regarding the boundary of East Pakistan were announced on Saturday [Feb 4]. The decisions were not unanimous. Mr Justice Shahabuddin and Mr Justice Aiyer, nominees of Pakistan and India on the Tribunal, had differed and Lord Justice Bagge had to give his award. Two of the four disputes [were] related to the Patharia Forest Reserve and the course of the Kusiyara river on the eastern boundary. The other two concerned the western boundary line between Rajshahi and Murshidabad districts and the thanas of Nawabganj and Sahibganj; and the common boundary along the Matha-bhanga river. Staff correspondent [Meanwhile, as reported by a staff correspondent,] for the establishment of an economic research centre for Muslim countries, His Highness the Aga Khan, now in Karachi, has announced a donation of Rs 5,00,000 (Indian) which is equivalent to nearly Rs 3,50,000, (Pakistani)... .
