THIS is apropos the Loudspeaker Ordinance 1965 `Fifty years ago` (from the past pages of Dawn).

It seems that half a century ago this nation was sane and shrewd towards religion and not succumbing to bigotry which we are witnessing today.

And, of course, the editor of `From the pages of Dawn` should be felicitated for this selection too.
