THIS is with reference to Chief Justice Saqib Nisar`s unequivocal declaration that he had no political intention whatsoever behind his judgements. Apparently, his statement came af ter allegations against the court on this score. The CJ also clarified that the court did not want to involve itself in cases of political nature, but it was forced to do this.
In my humble opinion, the abovementioned clarifications are futile. Our politicicians are immature as they do not take such assurances seriously.
If the court`s judgement is in their f avour, they eulogise it; otherwise they cry foul. No political party is exception to this.
The derogatory comment passed by the convicted and jailed Nihal Hashmi on his release f rom the jail is proof in this regard.
The callousness of political class has ruined the very f abric of this country.
Loans on a mass scale are sought in the name of the public and then the very amount is siphoned out of the country.
Of f shore companies, Iqamas and properties in Dubai are t proof of macro mismanagement and embezzlement. The court`s `involvement` in c ases of a politic al nature is a sigh of relief for a common Pakistani and a great check on politicians.
