24 factory workers suffer electric shocks

TOBA TEK SINGH: Two dozen kinno grading and polishing factory workers received heavy electric shocks in the factory and passed out on Wednesday.
Factory owner Barkat Ali said when it was raining, a live electricity wire suddenly touched the grading machine where 24 workers were at work and they received heavy electric shock. All of them fainted at once, however, a worker saved them who switched off the machine immediately.
Rescue 1122 shifted the 24 workers to the Toba District Headquarters Hospital where, according to doctors, they were out of danger.
They were identified as Arshad (45), Yousaf (30), Zubair (20), Babar (21), Adnan (20), Shoaib (26), Ashraf (22), Arshad Fareed (24), Ibrahim (35), Imran (27), Shoukat (40), Ihtasham (35), Rizwan (29), Majeed (51), Arshad Baggo (28), Musharraf (42), Waseem (24), Amer (23), Nadeem (22), Afzal (50), Tahir (25), Kashif (23), Ameer (23) and Kamran (26).
L I G H T N I N G : Lightning killed a man at Pirmahal on Wednesday.
The police said duringrain Qurban Ali Sindhi was tall(ing on his mobile phone outside the home in Lower Colony near Pirmahal Bypass Road when lightning struck him and as a result he was burnt alive.
Three years ago at the same place, a bolt of lightning had killed three young brothers.
BEATEN: The Government Primary School, Chak 280-JB, head teacher was beaten on Wednesday by several villagers when he allegedly stopped from not using school ground for exercise, where new tree plantation had been made.
A first information report registered with Nawan Lahore police under sections 427, 341, 379, 337, 148 and 149 of the Pakistan Penal Code by headteacher Attig Ghaffar stated that Jamil Fagir, his two sons Istikhar Jamil and Iftikhar Jamil and their several accomplices held him at gunpoint as soon as he came out of school after performing duty. They beat with sticks and dragged him on the ground in the village street.
He said they also snatched Rs13,400 and as mobile phone set from him. Police were conducting raids to arrest the suspects.
