Yet another casualty at unmanned level crossing

TOBA TEK SINGH: A motorcycle-rickshaw driver died when a train hit it at an unmanned level crossing at Gojra on Wednesday.

Witnesses said Muhammad Amer, who belonged to Chal( 371-JB, tried to take his motorcycle-rickshaw across the level crossing on GojraToba Road near New Plots area when LahoreKarachi DN Shalimar Express hit the vehicle that was stuck on the track. He died on the spot.

In another incident, a youngster succumbed to injuries at Faisalabad`s Allied Hospital hours after he suffered critical wounds in an accident at Gojra.

Police said Tauseef Ahmed Khan of Usman Town was riding his motorcycle on Painsara Road at Gojra when another motorcycle collided with him. He was referred by Gojra THQ hospital doctors to Faisalabad.

D I A L Y S I S MACHINES: Finally, adialysis ward has been made operative at the GojraTehsilHeadquarters (THQ) Hospital after it was inaugurated on Wednesday by Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf MPA Bilal Asghar Warraich.

The ward completed some two months ago but it could not be made functional. Several kidney patients of the Gojra city and surroundings who are on dialysis had to travel to the Toba Tek Singh District Headquarters Hospital or Faisalabad Allied Hospital for treatment.

Gojra THQ Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr Shahab Alam said they have started dialysis of kidney patients on all six dialysis machines for which necessary staff has been appointed by the Punjab primary and healthcare department.

He said for the ward`s incurring expenditures of Rs1.1 million had also been received by the hospital from the department.Gojra assistant commissioner Sundas Haris was also present on the occasion.
