MARDAN: Acting president of the opposition Awami National Party Ameer Haider Khan Hoti on Friday claimed that the country was set to witness a major political change.
Addressing the Awami National Party workers in a public meeting here, Mr Hoti criticised Prime Minister Imran Khan over poor economic and political moves.
`The inexperienced player [PM Imran Khan] has ruined the country financially, politically and socially,` he said.
The ANP leader said the prime minister was afraid of the opposition`s anti-government campaign and requesting allies not to desert him.He said the PTI government`s flawed policies formulated on the dictation of the International Monetary Fund had caused unprecedented inflation to the misery of the people. Mr Hoti said free, fair and transparent elections should be held in the country forthwith for the election of the government.
On the occasion, Akbar Hoti along with his family members and friends announced the joining of the ANP.
POLL CODE: Awami National Party MPA Faisal Zeb Khan has alleged that leaders of the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf are violating the code of conduct for local body elections.
`The PTI members are collect-ing CNICs from voters promising them financial assistance and development projects in return for electoral support, the lawmaker told reporters here on Friday.
Mr Faisal said the PTI had planned pre-poll rigging with the district administration helping its candidates.
