2023-03-05
KARACHI: Khan Abdul Wali Khan, Chief of the National Awami Party ... announced the launching of a mass movement for restoration of democracy and rule of law in Pakistan at a big public meeting held here at Arambagh. Speaking with great emotion, Khan Wali Khan said that it was a historic day that all the Opposition parties had joined hands to struggle together for winning back their fundamental rights.

He said the ruling party leaders had announced some important decisions in Karachi meetings, and he too was starting the fight for democracy and rule of law in Karachi whatever might be the sacrifices.

The NAP chief said that the Opposition parties also demanded that Yahya Khan should be put on trial without delay so that the nation should know who was responsible for the military defeat and also for the separation of East Pakistan.

He reminded the people that in a degenerating society, rights and privileges of respectable citizens are never presented [on] a silver platter. They will have to be attained through a peaceful struggle. Calling for immediate dissociation of Army from politics, he warned that failure to do so would have grave repercussions. Staff Reporter
