Katcha area gang kidnaps boy to avenge `illegal arrests`

RAHIM YAR KHAN: A robbers` gang kidnapped a 13-year-old from the Katcha area in the limits of Bhong Police Station and held him hostage despitethelaunchof a massive ongoing police operation.

Reports said Ahmed Bakrani and Shaira Koria Gang kidnapped Nasir, the son of Siraj Muhammad Jhuk, a resident of Garhi Jhuk from the area of Bhong on Monday night and took him to their hideouts on the riverbed of the Indus. Police claimed that Nasir was 16 years old and he was kidnapped when he was busy harvesting the wheat crop.

In a video footage released by the gang, Ahmed Bakrani, who was seen armed with the latest weapons, claimed that the whole area knew that he was silent and peaceful and not involve d in any robbery or crime for the last many years.Despite that, he added, the police had picked up his and Shaira`s sons illegally. He said that he would return the kidnapped person when the government would return their sons.

In his video, Shaira said they would kidnap a person daily regardless of the police action.

Claiming that they were neither involved in robberies nor were criminals, he said that they had no greed for money or other things and the kidnapped person would be returned in the exchange of their men.

On the other hand, the police spokesperson Saif Ali Wains, in his WhatsApp message, said that after receiving information of the boy`s kidnapping, the ASP Bhong circle with the SHO and a contingent of police sprung into action and reached the site of kidnapping. He claimed that police were utilising all technical resources to locate the criminals who had kidnapped Nasir.

District Police Officer Rizwan Umar Gondal took notice of the incident and said that the criminals would be arrested soon and the hostage would be recovered.
