Another suspect killed by firmg of accomplices: police

TAXILA: A suspect wanted in a number of robbery, snatching and theft cases was killed during a `shootout` with police in Hassanabdal in the early hours of Friday.
A police spokesman claimed that the suspect was killed by his own accomplices during an exchange of fire with the police. A case was registered onbehalfofthe state against the deceased`s two accomplices who fled.
The spokesperson said acting on a tip-off about the presence of three armed suspects on Pathargarh road, a team of police raided the spot. On seeing the police, the suspects opened an indiscriminate firing and fled.
The spokesman claimed that in the ensuing exchange of firing, one suspect fell to the bullets fired by their fleeingaccomplices. Later, the deceased was identified as Shahzad Ali, a native of Rawalpindi, who was wanted in a number ofrobbery, dacoity, snatching and theft cases. The body was shifted to the tehsil headquarters hospital for an autopsy and police launched a haunt to arrest his two companions.
It may be recalled that two alleged outlaws wanted in various heinous crimes were killed in a `shootout` with police in Kannri bridge hills near Bolniwal road in the limits of Attock Saddar police station on Tuesday (April 1).
A drug peddler was arrested in an injured condition after a shootout with police near Manoonagar in the limits of Hassanabdal police station on March 18.
Moreover, a suspect wanted in murder, attempted murder and robbery cases was arrested in an injured condition after a shootout with police near Bafud road in the limits of Hassanabdal police on March 14.
