Two shot, injured by robbers in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: Robbers shot and injured two persons while burglars and thieves stole cash and valuables worth over Rs26 million in separate places in the federal capital, police said on Friday.

Mohammad Daniyal told the Shams Colony police that he and his friend Hanzala were returning after taking meal when three biker riders intercepted them at the Shams Colony turn. The three persons pulled out weapons and snatched cash and three mobile phones. While escaping, the robbers also shot and injured Daniyal and his friend.

Meanwhile, thieves stole valuables worth Rs8 million from the house of Sadia Akhter at Bahria Enclave in the area of Banigala police station.Burglars broke into the house of Haji Liaquat Ali at Bahria Town Phase V in the Loi Bher police station limits when the residents were away and stole Rs1 million, 20 tola gold and a pistol.

Likewise, burglars stole cash and valuables worth over Rs5.5 million from the house of Bilal Khan Khattak at G-8/2 in the limitsofKarachiCompany police when the residents had gone to their native town to celebrate Eid.

Similarly, burglars took away cash and gold worth Rs2.3 million from the house of Amir Islam at Al-Huda TowninthelimitsofShahzad Town police station when the residentswereintheirnative village for Eid.

Ahsan Yousaf lodged a complaint at Noon police station that burglars stole 6.5 tola gold and Rs143,000 cash from his house at I-14/4 when the residents were away.

Adnan Qamar told Khana police that Rs485,000 cash and six tola gold were stolen from his house at Ghauri Town Phase IV. Burglars also stole Rs200,000, two tola gold and a motorcycle from the house of Farooq at Khana Dak in the jurisdiction of Khanna police.

Moreover, three tola gold, 10,000 dirhams and Rs150,000 were stolen from the house of Khalid Farooq at E-17 in the limits of Tarnol police station when the residents were in Attock to attend a marriage ceremony.

In another incident, thieves stole valuables, including gold and prize bonds worth Rs580,000 from the house of Sohail Ahmed at G-9/2 in the limits of Karachi Company police when the residents were in their native town for Eid. Munawer Azeem
