MUZAFFARGARH: Two youths were allegedly kidnapped and tortured by their relatives over an old rivalry and litigation in Jatoi police station limits on Friday.

As per police sources, complainant Abdul Hameed stated that his son Samiullah and nephew Adnan went to the mosque to offer Maghrib prayers but did not return home.

He said he searched for them, but to no avail. He informed the police about his rivalry and litigation with his relatives, Bilal and Abubakar, nominating them as suspected kidnappers of his son and nephew.

Acting on the information, the police conducteda raid and recovered the kidnapped youths from the house of the suspects, where they had been locked in a room and tortured.

The police arrested the suspects and registered a case against them and their accomplice under section 365 of the PPC.

District Police Officer Dr Mohammed Rizwan said on being informed of the kidnapping, a police team was formed immediately which recovered the two youths and arrested the kidnappers.

The complainant thanked the Jatoi police for the prompt response and saving the lives of the two youths. Correspondent
