Lakki teachers to protest in Islamabad

LAKKI MARWAT: The 10cal chapter of All Cadre Teachers Association has decided to participate in a demonstration outside Parliament House in Islamabad on May 7 to protest against non-implementation of time-scale formula for teachers` promotion, no increments on higher qualification and denial of other rights.

The decision was taken at a meeting chaired by the association`s president Fareedullah Shah here at a local school on Sunday.

The meeting formed committees that would arrange vehicles for carrying the teachers belonging to all cadres and categories to Islamabad.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr Shah and Pir Ghulam asked the government to accept the genuine demands of teachers.

They said that the teachers with meagre salaries could not deliver in a better way.

TMQ RALLY: Activists of Tehreek Minhajul Quran (TMQ) on Sunday took out a car rally against price hike and corruption.

Led by Rajab Ali Shah, the rally started from Pezu town and ended in Lakki city.

The participants also raised slogans in favour of Pakistan Army and ISI and against the Geo group.

The TMQ activists said that the government had failed on all fronts during the last one year.

They said that price hike and corruption had increased the miseries of common man.

They said that on the call of Tahirul Qadri they would continue their protests till corruption was eliminated.
