Anti-drug cycle rally reaches Pindi

RAWALPINDI: The `Jeeway Pakistan cycle rally`, which started from Muzaffargarh on April 22 to create awareness against drugs, reached the ANF headquarters here on Monday.
The rally was sponsored by the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF). Director General ANF Major General Khawar Hanif welcomed the participants of the rally.
The rally was led by Latif Sial and comprised 10 cyclists. They covered a distance of 810 kilometres.
Starting from Muzaffargarh, they stopped at Multan, Khanewal, Mian Channu, Chichawatni, Sahiwal, Okara, Patoki, Lahore, Gujranwala, Gujrat,Kharian, Jhelum, Sohawa and Gujar Khan before reaching Rawalpindi.
The participants of the rally also planned to go to Murree. The purpose of the rally was to create awareness amongst the citizens, particularly the young, with a motto to have a drug-free society. Pursuing the antidrug message, the cyclists distributed pamphlets, handouts and stickers in schools, colleges, bus stands and other public places.
During the journey, they also delivered speeches.
The message against drugs was also printed on nags, banners and the T-shirts of the ANF which has been supporting the activity for the last many years. The rally is an expedition which is open for all volunteers to join.
