`Made in KP` expo in Islamabad tomorrow

PESHAWAR: The Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) will hold the two-day `Made in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa` exhibition on May 6 and 7 in Islamabad.
Speaking at a press conference at the chamber`s house here on Thursday, SCCI president Mohammad Afzal said that the aim of holding the exhibition was to showcase handicrafts, diverse culture, traditional foods and a number of projects in various potential sectors, particularly in mines, mineral and other specialties of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
He said that President Mamnoon Hussain would formally inaugurate the exhibition at the Pak-China Friendship Centre in Islamabad. He said that Chief Minister Pervez Khattak was invited to the closing ceremony, but his participation as chief guest was not yet confirmed.
The SCCI chief said that the exhibitionwas lil(ely to attract not only the residents of twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad, but also the foreign dignitaries and their families would visit it. He said that around 100 stalls of different products made in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa would be arranged. He said that the products would include Peshawari chappal, sweets, Swati shawl, embroidery work, etc.
Flanked by other SCCI office-bearers, Mr Afzal said that the expo would help buildasoftimageofKhyberPakhtunkhwa in the world. He said that SCCI was working for promotion of art and culture of Khyber Pakhtunl(hwa across the country.
He said that earlier the business community of the province had faced difficult times due to militancy, but now complete peace prevailed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
He hoped that a large number of business entrepreneurs, skilled persons and SMEs would participate to convey a message that KP was much safer and feasible for investment.
