Karachi requires more than 1,000 million gallons of water per day.

But the existing system is only able to provide of about a quarter of what is needed.

This has led to several protests in various parts of the city.

Taking advantage of hot weather and poor water supply, the tanker mafia has been minting money.

From posh localities to the slums, the water crisis is affecting everyone. The authorities concerned should resolve this issue on anurentbasis.
