Four suspects linked with LJ, TTP held

KARACHI: The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) of police claimed on Friday night to have arrested four suspected militants linked with banned outfits over charges of their involvement in terror activities and unauthorised fundraising, said CTD DIG Saqib Ismail Memon.
Acting on a tip-off, the police arrested two suspects, identified as MohammedKamran aka Huzaifa and Abdul Rauf aka Abu Rizwan, near PCSIR Lab and seized two donation chits from their custody.
Belonging to the banned Lashkar-iJhangvi (LJ), the held suspects were `raising funds for their group as currently this outfit is facing financial difficulties`, added Mr Memon.
Both suspects got militancy training from Afghanistan where their outfit`s training centre was located. Further details about their group`s set-up were being collected.Separately, acting on information, the CTD arrested two suspects namely Kaiftan Khan aka Kafayatullah and Mohammed Irshad aka Zakarai near Siemens Chowrangi in SITE and seized donation chits from their custody.
They belonged to the banned Tehreeki-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and were involved in generating funds for the banned outfit, which were being sent to Afghanistan, claimed Mr Memon.
`They got militancy training from Afghanistan.
