QUETTA: Potential presence of about 25 crore tons of copper is indicated in preliminary tests carried out by experts of the Resources Development Corporation in Chagai district of Baluchistan, it was learnt here today [June 4]. About 9,000 tons of ore tested at the laboratories in Karachi and Saindak show an average metal content of 0.5 per cent. Nearly 22,000 feet of drilling has been done so far. Experts working on the Saindak site believe that drilling up to a minimum of 50,000 feet will have to be done... . President Sadat aboard the Egyptian Naval destroyer `October Sixth` will lead the first official convoy to pass through the Canal since it was blocked exactly eight years ago owing to the 1967 Arab-Israeli War. Mr Sadat will traverse half of the Canal stretch, from Port Said to Ismailia, and a few hours later the first freighters en route from Europe to Asia will once more pass through the waterway.
