LAHORE: Speaking at a reception arranged in honour of the Bharati goodwill delegation to Western Pakistan by the Indo-Pak Friendship League of Lahore this evening [June 4], Mr Bhim Sen Sacher, leader of the delegation, emphasised that the only way to salvation for both Pakistan and Bharat lay in the NehruLiaquat Pact of Delhi. The alternative, he held, was total ruination of the countries.
Speaking in soft tones in immaculate Urdu Mr Sacher stressed the need for complete change of hearts on both sides to implement the Pact in letter and spirit and called for a concerted effort on the part of the people in the two countries to strengthen the hands of the two Prime Ministers... .
[]By coming together and averting a gruesome catastrophe that stared both countries in the face, Mr Sacher continued, both Mr Liaquat Ali Khan and Pandit Nehru had earned the title to supreme statesmanship not only in Asia but in the international field. ... [League president Maulvi Ghulam Mohiuddin Khan] pointed out that the prerequisite for lasting peace between the two countries was the creation of a sense of security because so long as the minorities felt unsafe ... the objective would not be realised.
