KHAR: Pakistan Peoples Party leaders in Bajaur tribal district on Thursday criticised the district administration for not allowing party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to visit the region on July 8.
Speaking at a press conference here, PPP leaders, including its provincial vice-president Akhunzada Chattan and Aurangzeb Khan, said that they had submitted a written application to the district administration about the scheduled visit of Bilawal to the district a week ago and sought permission for his public meeting.
The PPP leaders said that unfortunately deputy commissioner Usman Mehsud declined to allow Mr Bilawal to visit the district and hold a public meeting. They termed the decision unjustified and discriminatory.
They said that political and religious leaders, including provincial ministers, had been visiting tribal districts without any restriction af ter the area was merged with the province.
