B A H A WA L P U R : Scores of motorcycle-rickshaw drivers and their owners on Monday staged a demonstration, demanding discontinuation of Speedo bus service in the city and Lodhran.

The drivers and owners of three-wheelers assembled at DPO Chowk, blocked the busy crossing for hours demanding that the Speedo bus service launched in the city last month be discontinued as the facility adversely af fected their livelihood.

The protesters told the media that after the restoradon of Speedo bus service, they were on the verge of starvation as the bus provided travelling facilities to mostly students who used the motorcyclerickshaws as transport.

They threatened if their demand to stop the Speedo bus service wasnot accepted, they would block all city roads.

DOG BITE: Two people Ghulam Murtaza (16) and Muhammad Mushtaq (28) were bitten by stray dogs on Monday in Lodhran.

According to media coordinator Muhammad Safdar of Rescue 1122, rescuers after providing first aid shifted the injured to the Lodhran DHQ Hospital where their treatment was in progress.
