GUJRANWALA: A woman allegedly strangled her five-year-old son in Nawanwali village in the city`s suburbs.

According to police sources, suspect Zahra Bibi is the wife of a man currently working in Greece. She allegedly choked her minor son, Muhammad Badshah, to death for unknown reasons.

Upon receiving information, the Saddar police reached the scene and took the suspect into custody.

An FIR has been registered on the complaint of the child`s grandfather, Zulfiqar.

Police said the motive behind the killing was still unclear and investigation was being done from various angles.
