THIS is with reference to Yvonne Khan`s article `Travel travails` (July26).
In order to avert misuse of the POC facility, Nadra introduced enhanced security measures in the processing of the POC. This resulted in longer waiting periods. The writer is correct to this extent.
Finally, in July 2015, Nadra stopped issuing POCs to the foreign origin spouses of Pakistani nationals under the instructions of the ministry of interior.
Therefore, the POC case of the writer is still pending with Nadra Headquarters, as of many other applicants, to be decided inthe light of the existing policy.
So far as the issuance of a visa is concerned, the writer approached this consulate through fax on July 13. She was contacted the same day by the Consulate staff about submission of her visa application, which she did the next day (July 14) when the visa was issued to her within a few minutes.
The Consulate of Pakistan, Bradford. is doing its best to facilitate applicants. For instance, it catered for more than 44,000 applicants during 2014 as compared to 33,000 applicants during the previous year.
According to directions of the Prime Minister of Pakistan, community facilitation remains the key priority of the Pakistan High Commission, London, and its consulates.
