Inter-provincial mega cultural show on 8th

LAHORE: The Punjab Information and Culture Department, with the assistance of Punjab Council of Arts and Lahore Arts Council, will hold an inter-provincial mega cultural event -Hum Aik Hain -on Aug 8 at the Alhamra Art Centre, The Mall, in which artists from Azad Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan will also participate.
Culture and Information Secretary Raja Jahangir told Dawn on Sunday the show was being organised on the orders of Chief Minister Usman Buzdar, in connection with Independence Day celebrations.
Mr Jahangir said the sports, tourism and culture departments of Punjab, Sindh, Balochistan, Khyber Pathtunkhwah, Azad Kahmir and Gilgit Baltistan were coordinating for holding the show that would feature performances by folk singers, dancers from all the provinces.
He said the Punjab government was emphasising a lot on the promotion of art and culture. He added that it had been decided that after the August 8 show more interprovincial cultural events would also be held on different themes such as food, dresses, art and craft.
