Religious leaders call for OIC, UNSC sessions on Kashmir

LAHORE: The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the UN have been urged to take prompt action against prevailing Indian aggression in held Kashmir.
Leadership of various religious and political organisations ata press conference here on Sunday said that India was playing havoc with world peace, and more than 1.5 billion people of South Asia were particularly facing an alarming situation because of Indian aggression in the region.
Under the aegis of Pakistan Ulema Council, they announced Kashmir Solidarity Day on Aug 9 across the country, saying India was sabotaging world peace and the world leadership should take action against India`s nefarious designs in India-held Kashmir (IHK).
Condemning the use of cluster bombs by the Indian Army against civilian population, they said the people of Pakistan were standing shoulder to shoulder with the Pakistani armed forces against Indian aggression and its nefarious designs of changing legal status of the disputed valley as well as its demography.
They demanded convening of an urgent session of the OIC and UN Security Council to frame a global strategy against mounting Indian aggression in held Kashmir.
They also urged Islamabad to send delegates to all Islamic counties to update them on increasing atrocities of Indian forces in IHK.
Those present at the presser included Hafiz Tahir Ashrafi, Maulana Asadullah Farooq, Syed Ziaullah Shah Bughari, Father Nadeem Francis, Pastor Shahid Mehraj, Maulana Ashfaq Patafi, Allama Zubair Zahid, Maulana Shamsul Haq, Maulana Abdul Qayyum, Mualana Usman Ghani and Qari Mubashar Raheemi.
