AS per a notification issued by the finance department of Sindh, ad hoc allowances from 2015 to 2019 were merged into the basic pay of the employees and disparity allowance was also granted to them.
When the employees received the salaries for the month of July, they were unable to find ad hoc allowances for 2020 and 2021.
The employees only got a little increment in their salaries due to the disparity allowance.
Everyone received less salary from their expected due amount. This grave mistake from the office of the provincial accountant-general (AG) has left people in a state of shock. People are already struggling to make ends meet due to high inflation.
Such cuts in salaries of employees are illegal and AG Sindh has no authority to do so without an order from the finance department.
The AG office must correct the mistake and pay the employees their due salaries with immediate effect which must include the amount for the `missing` allowances. Also, the difference against the month of July should be added to the salaries of government employees.
