THE academic year saw a slow start as schools and colleges opened late in the hope of defying the monsoon season, but fate had some other plan in store. The rains started as soon as the academic session got under way.
Every other night there was confusion among parents in different social groups as to whether or not to send their children to school the next day. At such times, the buses and van drivers decide in unisonnot to show up, leaving the parents to decide for themselves if the schools were functional on the day. School administrations stay mute and do not even try to provide online information.
As a person engaged with educational administration, I feel the School Education and Literacy Department of Sindh government should issue some pre-emptive measures for the smooth functioning of all e ducational institutions during unpredictable weather for the general ease and convenience ofthe students, parents and school managements alike.
