LAHORE: Leaders of Bar associations on Tuesday expressed solidarity with the army and urged the government to take up the case of violation of human rights diplomatically at all international forums.

Speaking at a press conference, Supreme Court Bar Association President Syed Ali Zafar said the entire legal fraternity of Pakistan was determined to stand side by side with its armed forces and government against any act of aggres-sion against their homeland.

The presidents of the Lahore High Court Bar Association, the Lahore Bar Association and the Lahore Tax Bar Association also spoke at the media briefing.

Mr Zafar lauded the conference of parliamentarians summoned to discuss a unanimous action plan against Indian acts of violence. He said India wanted to divert attention of the world from its human rights` violations in Kashmir and damage the CPEC project.

The SCBA president urged the peace-loving people of India to raisetheir voice and stop their government from unjustified violence in the occupied Kashmir. `India is a smart enemy and waging a hybrid war,` Mr Zafar said, adding it was trying to label Pakistan a terrorist state.

He stated that India was using cold war strategy and the Pakistan government must seek assistance of thinktanl(s and experts who were capable of countering such strategies. He also asked the government to engage the Chinese and Russian media to expose India`s cruel face to the world.

He lamented that the world organisations and NGOs were ignor-ing the war crimes committed by the Indian forces, genocide and the crime against humanity.

The bar`s president further said the threat of surgical strikes or any other form of operation that hurt Pakistan should be fully resisted. If the Indus Water Treaty was unilaterally cancelled, it would be a violation of both the agreement as well as the international law, he added.

LHCBA President Rana Zia Abdur Rehman announced that a joint general house meeting would be held on Oct 7 which would be followed by a rally.
