MUZAFFARABAD: The Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) government on Wednesday transferred secretary elementary and secondary education Irshad Ahmed Qureshi in the midst of litigation over an `education package` by the opposition PPP in AJK Supreme Court.

Mr Qureshi was posted as secretary law, justice, parliamentary affairs and human rights a post that fell vacant after the recent retirement of Mr Idrees Tabassum.

Secretary trade and industry and minerals Raja Amjid Pervez Ali Khan was transferred as secretary elementary and secondary education.

Raja Tariq Masood, director general Extension Services Management Academy, was elevated as secretary trade and industry and minerals. Mr Masood comes from the constituency of Prime Minister Haider.

Separately, divisional commissioner Muzaffarabad Chaudhry Muhammad Tayyab and divisional commissioner Mirpur Zafar Mehmood were also mutually transferred.
