R ECENTLY, I read a news regarding a schoolteacher sustaining injuries in a scuffle with the officials of the Peshawar Electric Supply Company (Pesco) in the Kakki sub-division of Bannu.
This happened when a Pesco team accompanied by police went to a photocopy shop to arrest its owner who was using kunda to get electricity. Soon a scuffle started in which bystanders too got involved. A teacher who was getting copies made got injured. He got a case registered against the line superintendent and other Pesco officials.
The residents of Kakki sub-division demanded of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to arrest the Pesco official concerned. Why? Shouldn`t the owner of the photocopy shop be arrested for stealing electricity? Wasn`t it the duty of the Pesco official concerned to try and getkundas(hooks) removed? Ali AshrafKhan Karachi
