CHIEF Justice of Pakistan Anwar Zaheer Jamali for the first time in the country`s country`s parliamentary history addressed the senate. He stressed the need for addressing what he called `the crisis of implementation` which has made dispensation of law and justice to the people impossible. The chief justice backed the superior judiciary`s intervention in administrative matters, saying that though implementation is primarily an executive function, it becomes a matter of judicial consideration when rights of the people are denied or violated.
Parliament, the judiciary and the media are the three all-important pillars of a democratic state. The chief justice`s visit to parliament is a very welcome and positive step towards a stable democratic rule in the country. The judiciary must play its constitutional role more effectively to ensure that the common man gets fair, cheap and quick justice.
The chief justice`s visit to the Senate is very much appreciated and it is anticipated that he will continue his efforts for an environment of the rule of law and justice to all.
