Free seed distribution begins in Dir

TIMERGARA: The process of free seeds` distribution among small farmers under the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa`s Insaf Food Security Programme began here on Wednesday.

Addressing a function on the occasion, district nazim Mohammad Rasool Khan said a total of 13,500 small farmers would be provided free quality seeds. The function was held at the Model Farm Services Centre, Timergara.

The district agriculture director Murad Ali, Balambat tehsil nazim Imran-ud-Din, Timergara naib nazim Asfandyar and others also spoke on the occasion.

Rasool Khan said the process of seeds` distribution would continue till Nov 10.

The director agriculture Murad Ali informed the farmers that the seeds were not meant for consumption due to their poisonous nature.

Also in the day, 300 farmers of Munda and Samar Bagh were provided with quality seed during separate functions.

The assistant director agriculture, Jandool, Islam ul Haq distributed seeds among the selected farmers.
