LAHORE: The Alhamra Academy of Performing Arts will hold a one-day traditional music instruments festival, showcasing seasoned musicians and instrumentalists at Alhamra.
The festival will feature a range of classical instruments, including the sitar, flute, tabla and sarangi, performed by both academy teachers and emerging young talent. The event aims to engage and acquaint youth with Pakistan`s rich heritage oftraditional music instruments. A number of notable film and television personalities, musicians, and students from various colleges and universities will attend.
In a bid to further preserve and promote cultural heritage, the academy plans to establish a mini-museum of traditional music instruments.
It is also working towards developing a formal syllabus for music classes, currently held as hobby courses.-Staff Reporter
