UMERKOT: Fifteen labourers were injured when a Jeep in which they were returning to Dars village after work in Thar Coal Block-2 in Islamkot taluka collided with a buffalo on Monday.
Police officials said the workers were returning to their village when they met the accident. The injured were rushed to rural health centre in Islamkot for treatment, they said.
Duty doctor at the centre said that two of the injured Qeemat Meghwar and Geno Meghwar were in critical condition and hence referred to Mithifor further treatment.
The other injured were identified as Arab Samoon, Mahauji Kolhi, Janib Sehto, Tego Meghwar, Bhagwan Meghwar, Bhoomoon Meghwar, Lachman, Misri Sehto and Bachal Dars.
Locals expressed concern that Thar coal authorities failed to provide immediate assistance to the injured, which had become a recurring issue.
The families of the injured demanded prompt support and improved safety measures for workers by the Thar coal project management.
