TIMERGARA: The residents of Balambat, Manogi, Gul Dherai, Kandaro and Khaima villages have demanded of the SNGPL authorities to take notice of unannounced gas outages and low pressure in the localities.

Talking to mediapersons, the consumers complained that duration of gas loadshedding had increased with the start of winter. They said that low gas pressure in the morning and evening had been troubling them as they were forced to burn wood or LPG to cook food.

They warned to come onto the roads if the matter was not resolved promptly.

Meanwhile, epilepsy patients in Lower Dir complained about shortage of medicines in the local markets and demanded of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to take notice of the matter.

They told mediapersons that certain tablets used for treatment of the disease were not available in the local market for months.

They said that people had to travel to Peshawar and Islamabad to buy the tablets for epilepsy patients.

FILLING STATIONS FINED: Assistant director of Lower Dir consumer protection court on Wednesday raided various filling stations in the district and imposed fines on over a dozen of them while cases were also registered against others.

Taking notice on public complaints, assistant director consumer protection court Ziaur Rehman along with officials of Dir Levies raided filling stations at Khall, Maidan, Balambat and Timergara.

The team checked gauge of petrol and diesel, safety measures and cleanliness.

Owners of several filling stations were fined while cases against scores of others were registered for tampered meters and avoiding essential safety measures.
