2015-01-06
ISAMABAD : Apropos a news item published in Dawn on January 4 with the headline: `Lal Masjid`s expansionism, militant links alarms agencies`, Bahria Town has denied any association with any religious or political group.

The spokesperson for the housing scheme, Nida Zahoor, has said Lal Masjid was severely damaged during the 2007 operation and Bahria Town worked to renovate it and restore its sanctity.

During this process the mosque`s unpaid utility bills were also paid off to ensure provision of basic utilities to the mosque, Ms Zahoor said in a statement.

`Masajid are Allah`s home and we will continue to do all in our capacity to build and repair more Masajid and it does not in any way imply Bahria Town`s association/ connection with any religious or political group,` she added.
