Eid-i-Milad celebrated with religious zeal

PESHAWAR: Eid-iMiladun Nabi was celebrated with religious zeal and fervor in the provincial metropolis where several processions were tal(en out in the city under tight security.

Pir Inayat Shah Bacha led a procession from Milad Chowk, Hashtnagri, which after passing through its traditional route, ended at the same venue. Another procession was taken from and culminated at the Milad House, Anam Sanam Chowk, after marching on different roads.

The police had taken appropriate steps for security of the people where different link roads and streets had been blocked through cemented blocl(s and razor wire. The participants were allowed after thorough search. The volunteers also extended full cooperation to the law enforcers.

At different places the people had arranged food, pudding and custard stalls to distribute to the participants of the Milad processions.

The speakers asked the participants to follow the footprints of prophet Mohammad (PBUH) and work for restoration of peace and development.

They also condemned the bloodshed in the name of Islam and described the killing of innocent people totally in negation of the teachings of Islam. They said that those shedding blood of innocent people could not be called Muslims.
