RAWALPINDI: The Faizabad traders on Wednesday observed token strike against the proposed plan to demolish their shops and hotels for the construction of metro bus terminal.
The protesters were carrying placards and banners inscribed with their demands.
United Traders Union Faizabad President Arshad Abbasi, while talking to Dawn, said if the shops and hotels are demolished, it would render more than 800 traders jobless.
“We have been running our business in the area for the last 30 years and the government is trying to snatch our source of livelihood,” he said.— A Reporter
