LAHORE: Police claimed on Sunday to have arrested the lawyer who had allegedly killed another lawyer and his office assistant in Shahdara.

Advocate Irfan Mushtaq, 40, of Jia Musa and his office assistant Muhammad Afzal, 42 were shot dead by another lawyer Muhammad Bilal atJiaMusaMainBazaaronSaturday.

The suspect had managed his escape.

Shahdara police registered thecase against the suspect on the complaint of victim`s father Mushtaq Khokhar.

City Division SP Syed Karrar Husain said police arrested the suspect and started investigation.

He said the suspect had confessed to killing his colleague and office assistant over exchange of harsh words. He said the lawyers had a property dispute.

Another police officer on condition of anonymity said suspect Bilal some years ago had rented his 2.5 marla house to Irfan who was notvacating it. A case to the effect was also pending in the local court.

He said on Saturday both the lawyers exchanged words over the issue.

He said Bilal, who was armed with a pistol, got infuriated, shot the lawyer and office assistant dead, and later courted arrest.

FOUND DEAD: A woman was found dead in Garhi Shahu on Sunday.

Police said an unidentified woman, in her 30s, was found dead near Nach Gher in Railway Colony, Garhi Shahu. The body was shifted for autopsy.
