Iesco operation against power theft continues

I S L A M A B A D : Islamabad Electric Supply Company (Iesco), during the month of January 2023, identified 3,423 meters out of which 3,361 were found to be slow.

It was discovered that direct supply of electricity was being taken from 57 meters while five of them were tampered and using electricity illegally.

On the basis of slow meters and electricity theft, fines of more than Rs42.3 million were imposed on consumers and applications have also been submitted in police stations for legal action.

According to a statement, electricity theft is certainly a religious, moral and national crime which is a highly condemnable act.

Indiscriminate and intensive operations are going on in the Iesco region for elimination of electricity theft, which is being directly supervised by Iesco Chief Executive Dr Mohammad Amjad Khan.
