Rs33m to be spent on roads in Hazro

TAXILA: Member of district monitoring committee and former provincial minister Jahangir Khanzada has said that Rs33 million would be spent this fiscal year on road infrastructure development in 14 union councils (UCs) of tehsil Hazro.

He expressed these views while addressing the inauguration ceremony of a road project in Shahdher on Wednesday, which was attended by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Hazrochapter`s president Malik Ansar Ahmed, former chairman UC Saeed Awan, former councillor Ilyas Khan, numberdar Ali Asghar and other notables of the area.

The project was completed with an Rs3 million which would provide better communication facilities to the public and improve transportation of agricultural products, especially vegetables from field to markets in Hazro, Attock, Rawalpindi and Islamabad.

He said that requisite funds to all union councils of the city arereleased for execution of different projects like construction of roads, streets, revamping sewerage and drainage lines to improve the civic facilities in rural and urban areas besides improving the living standard of the respective areas.

Khanzada said that under the leadership of Punjab chief minister, the provincial government is taking concrete steps under the rural development package to ensure the progress and prosperity of Attock district.

He said resolving public issue was the government`s priorityand due to steps taken by the PML-N government, inflation had drastically decreased.

He added that despite financial constraints, the government launched numerous development projects during the past one year.

`People had rejected PTPs politics of agitation and confrontation, which is aimed at destabilising the country,` he said.

He urged people to reject the politicalleaderswhowereresponsible for bringing the country on the verge of economic disaster on dictation of international financialinstitutions.
