ISLAMABAD: A roundtable discussion on Wednesday ponder ways to strengthen collaboration between corporate and development sectors for achieving impactful partnerships.
Almost 30 development and corporate sector organisations participated in the discussionorganised by the Human Resource Development Network (HRDN), a membership-based network of national and international NGOs and individual professionals.
The roundtable dialogue was headed by HRDN Chairperson Roomi S Hayat, Chief ExecutiveOfficer (CEO) of Asia Foundation Muzaffaruddin and HRDN CEO Robeela Bangash.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Roomi S Hayat said that in the coming four to five years, the global funding patterns would change and it could be projected that this would affect the devel-opment organisations in Pakistan and across the globe.
`Some organisations may survive, but others will be under the brunt of this,` he noted.
`As corporate sector organisations have CSR and development organisations have outreach in communities and across vulnerable groups ofthe population, we should, throughcombined efforts, continue to deliver by tapping national and local funding resources,` he suggested.
The CEO of Asia Foundation, Muzaffaruddin said that there was not much synergy between the corporate and development sectors, and the intention was to foster the collaboration through this dialogue.
`We have one agenda and that is dialogue. We can only learn through sharing and discussing our ideas to create a valuable impact,` he said, adding, `A series of dialogues are needed ahead of this to build connectivity between the corporate and development sectors.
HRDN CEO Robeela Bangash welcomed and thanked the representatives from the corporate and development sectors for participating in the `thought-provoking` discussion. She said, `Our objective is to restore sustainability and enhance the cooperation between both sectors.`-APP
