Six vendors booked for selling substandard food items

SHANGLA: Alpuri tehsil administration here on Wednesday booked six vendors, confiscated more than 100 kilograms of substandard food items and sealed more than a dozen shops during the ongoing crackdown on substandard foods suppliers, and vendors after demise of three children.
The assistant commissioner, Mohammad Hamid Saddiqui, told journalists that crackdown on vendors, suppliers, who used to sell substandard foods, snacks and expired items, woul continue.
He said that during first visit to Alpuri, he booked six shopkeepers and confiscated more than 100 kilograms of substandard food items and sealed a dozen shops and restaurants for not maintaining cleanliness.
He said that they conducted joint raids with Halal Foods Authority on the same day in Alpuri, Karora, Kuz Kana and Dehrai bazaars against substandard kebabs, hotels, fish, meat and tea stalls and also checked milk samples.
He said that four vendors were sent behind bars and six shops were sealed in Kuzkana, Karora and Dherai. He said that the operation would continue and mobile testing laboratory was with them for testing milk.
