MARDAN/MINGORA: Three minors were killed and five others of a family received wounds when roof of their house collapsed due to rain in Saroorabad locality of Jalala village while a girl died and two others sustained injuries in similar incident in Barikot tehsil of Swat on Thursday.

In Mardan, officials of Rescue 1122 said thatroofofthe house ofone Dost Mohammad collapsed, killing his three children identified as Faiza, 8, Sana, 3, and infant Waqas, on the spot, while his wife Baseerat, 50, and sons Niamat, 12, and Abbas, 6, received injuries.

The owner of the house was a taxi driver and belonged to poor family.

They said that the Rescue 1122 officials shifted the bodies and the injured to tehsil headquarter hospital, Takhtbai.

In Mingora, a girl died and two other children sustained injuries after boundary wall of the government girls primary school, Naatmera, in Barikot tehsil collapsed due to heavy rain.

According to Barikot police, Sidra, 12, died on the spot while two other children Shabir Ahmad and Sumaira were critically injured in the incident.

Swat DC Saqib Raza Aslam has launched an inquiry into the incident.-Dawn Report
