Four BISP cash points sealed in Upper Dir

UPPER DIR: Four cash points of Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) were sealed in Dir city after their owners were found guilty of taking money from the beneficiaries of the scheme.
The additional assistant commissioner, Ijaz Akhtar, along with BISP assistant director Sajjad Ahmad visited the cash points where they were told by some of the beneficlaries the staff took money from them. On their complaints, the officials sealed four cash points.
Ijaz Akhtar said that officials of district administration were visiting the cash points on regular basis. He said that they asl(ed the beneficiaries to approach them directly if amount was taken from them by the cash point owners.
Sajjad Ahmad said that during their visit two cash points were sealed in Kakakhel Plaza while one each in Ali Market and the main bazaar.
Meanwhile, a meeting was held here with Deputy Commissioner Khalid Iqbal Khattak in the chair to review steps for prevention of possible dengue fever outbreak.
Mr Khattak said that before start of summer, all the precautionary measures should be taken to present outbreak of dengue fever. He also stressed the need for sacaling up awareness and timely fumigation.
SNOWFALL: The hilly areas of Upper Dir received snowfall and plains areas received rains on Thursday that turned the weather chilly.
Lowari tunnel, Kumrat, Thal, Doog Darra, Gowaldi Darra, Sheringal, Qulandi, Dobando Darra, Upper Brawal, Usheri Darra, and other hilly areas received unexpected snowfall.
Lowari tunnel and adjacent area received 20 inches snow, according to sources. The plains areas of the district including Dir, Bibyawar, Darora and Wari received rain, continued for the entire day on Thursday.
The snowfall and rain turned the weather chilly.
Attendance of studnets in schools also remained thin due to snowfall and rain.
