Four of family die in road accident

TOBA TEK SINGH: Four people of a family died when a bus ran over them on Kamalia Road near the Dabbanala Canal bridge on Sunday.
Rescue 1122 said Dishad Gulzar, from Chak 322JB, was on his way from Rajana to Toba Tek Singh on their motorcycle, along with his wife, Iqra Perveen, daughter Umaima, and son Rehan, when their motorcycle collided with another motorcycle. In the meantime, a bus following them ran over them. The couple and their son Rehan died while their daughter Umaima was referred by the DHQ hos-pital to the Faisalabad Allied Hospital, where she died hours later.
In another accident in Kamalia on Chichawatni Road, four people were injured. An oil tanker hit a motorcycle near Police Station Chowk, when its brakes failed.
The oil tanker ended up in an ice cream shop.
The injured were identified as Waqas Rashid, Muhammad Umer, oil tanker driver Muhammad Wazir and Abdullah. They were first admitted to the Kamalia THQ Hospital to be referred to the DHQ hospital.
CAMPAIGN: The Faisalabad Waste Management Company began a 16-day cleaningcampaign of `Safai Nasif Iman Hai` programme on Sunday during which mechanical washing and mechanised sweeping will be done every day in the city.
SEMINAR: An international seminar on the physical fitness of athletes and coaches was organised by the Government College University, Faisalabad, on Sunday, in which Ali Raza Habibi from the International Handball Association informed the students about ñtness and coaching.
Director of Sports Zeeshan Ahmed Khan said that in today`s modern era, the physical and mental fitness of the players, as well as thecoaching and facilities of international standards, are very important to instil the spirit of winning among the players.
He gave tips on international-level coaching techniques and the fitness of the players and students. Secretary of the Central Asia Handball Federation Muhammad Shafiq said it is necessary to provide training to the players under the supervision of the best coaches so that they can perform well up to the international level.
The international event of Central Asia is being held under Women Handball Trophy International Handball Association in which teams from Uzbekistan,Kyrgyzstan, Tajil(istan and Pakistan are participating.
C O N F E R E N C E : Ambassador Isial(a Abdulgadir Imam, secretary-general of the D-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation (D-8), will be the chief guest at the inaugural session of a two-day international conference on `Food security challenges and opportunities in D-8 countries ` being held on Monday and Tuesday by UAF`s Centre for Advance Studies in Agriculture and Food Security.
Representatives of Bangladesh, Indonesia, Iran, Egypt, Malaysia, Nigeria and Turkey will also speak.
