Tanker carrying oil made from chicken waste seized

MUZAFFARGARH: A team of Punjab Food Authority claimed on Wednesday to have seized a tanker filled with 10,000 kilograms of oil made from chicken waste.
The unwholesome oil was being supplied to hotels and factories in Multan. The authorities destroyed the oil on the spot and registered a case against the tanker`s driver.
According to PFA Director of Operations (South) Shahzad Magsi, the oil was being transported from an illegal factory in Khanpur Bagasher. Upon receiving information, PFA offi-cials intercepted the tanker near the Bhuttapur flyover.
Laboratory tests confirmed that the seized oil was made from chicken waste. The oil was destroyed in the presence of the police.
A case has been registered at City Police Station on the complaint of PFA Food Safety Officer Rizwan Ahmed.
The driver of the tanker, Muhammad Yousufur Rehman, has been taken into custody.
LIQUOR SEIZED: City police arrested several drug dealers and recovered 440 litres of liquor and 50 litres of lard during a crackdown.
The arrested suspects have been remanded in custody.
